Diane L. Krasner
PhD RN CWCN CWS BCLNC FAAN


Dr. Krasner is a Wound & Skin Care Consultant based in York, Pennsylvania. She works part-time as the WOCN / Special Projects Nurse at Rest Haven – York.

She has been the lead co-editor of Chronic Wound Care: A Clinical Source Book for Healthcare Professionals since the first edition was published in 1991. Dr. Krasner is on the editorial boards of Wounds, The International Journal of Wound Care and World Wide Wounds.

Dr. Krasner is a Board Certified Legal Nurse Consultant and she serves as an expert witness in legal cases involving wound and skin care.

George Rodeheaver, PhD

    Dr. Rodeheaver is the Richard F. Edlich Professor of Biomedical Research at the University of Virginia Health System. He founded and has directed the Burn Support and Wound Healing Research Laboratory for over 30 years. His laboratory research has resulted in significant advances in burn and traumatic wound management.

    In recent years, Dr. Rodeheaver has focused on the prevention and management of pressure ulcers. He was a founding member and President of the National Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel. He also served on the AHCPR Panel for the development of Guidelines for Prevention and Treatment of Pressure Ulcers. He continues to work in his State and local area in developing policies and programs to enhance pressure ulcer prevention.

    Dr. Rodeheaver was a co-editor of the Third Edition and will continue to be a co-editor in the Fourth Edition of “Chronic Wound Care: A Clinical Source Book for Healthcare Profesisonals.”

R. Gary Sibbald
BSc, MD, FRCPC (Med)(Derm), ABIM, DABD, MEd


     Dr. Sibbald is a professor of public health sciences and Medicine at the University of Toronto with training in dermatology, internal medicine and education. He is currently the director of medical education and the Wound Healing Clinic at the Women’s College Hospital.

He established an interprofessional education model for wound care as co-founder, previous chairman and a five-time annual meeting chair of the Canadian Association of Wound Care. In 1999, Dr, Diane Krasner and Professor Sibbald co-established the International Interdisciplinary Wound Care Course (IIWCC) at the University of Toronto. He is co-editor of the Third and soon to be published fourth Edition of Chronic Wound Care: A Clinical Source Book for Healthcare Professionals.

Dr. Sibbald is the chairman for the 3rd Meeting of the World Union of Wound Healing Societies to be held in Toronto in June 4th to 8th 2008 He has published over 100 articles and book chapters.
